Wow has it been a year already? Reflecting over the past year, TYB has come a long way. In order to celebrate the teams' success, an end of the year tournament is played to find TYB's first inaugural champion. To determine who was to play for this prestigious award, a list of attendance was kept and noted every time a player attended its social games. The players who attended approximately 70% of the games held through the year were eligible to compete for the title and bragging rights.
With its last minute change of venue, from Staverton to Catkin, the tournament continued without a hitch. 18 TYB players made the cut and had the opportunity to play for its own coveted Championship title. The game chip count was 200k with 1k/2k blinds. No doubt there was a lot of serious play and this was a knock out tourney, so no re-buys.
Bad beat of the night had to go to T-Rex.
Blinds were called, the flop K-8-5
T-Rex, being low stack, pushed All In. JP hesitates at first, then calls. Cards are shown:
T-Rex K8 Vs JP K4. Two pair against top pair of Kings. Fourth Street is a 4, which now gives JP two pair however still behind from T-Rex's higher two pair. Fifth Street is another 4, JP rivers his full house.
As the night went on and players dropped, we came to the business end of the tournament: Final Table.
There was talk of a 5-way split, as the remaining players were evenly matched. Down to the last 5, C-One has chip lead, but he decides to continue. Eerr then bounced back later and managed to lock down chip lead and TYB's first Champion spot.
Final Result:
Eerr - TYB 2009 Champion
C-One - Runner Up

TYB's first year has come a long way from the small social games. TYB acknowledges and gives a special thanks to Tai and J for hosting TYB's 2009 Tournament on such short notice.
